Fratelli Prayer & Action Ministry

Fratelli Prayer and Action Ministry

St. Joseph Catholic Church

 Mission Statement

Grounded in the long tradition of Catholic Social Teaching, the Fratelli Prayer and Action Ministry seeks to emulate Jesus through study, service, advocacy, charity, and justice.  This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you.  (John 15:12)

About

The Fratelli Prayer and Action Ministry was inspired as a way to educate ourselves and act on the long tradition of Catholic social teaching as presented anew by Pope Francis in his encyclical letter “Fratelli Tutti”.  This document challenges all of us to live out our Baptismal call to be witnesses of Christ to others in advocacy and service, while holding the dignity of all persons in highest esteem.

Goals:

  1. To master the principles of Catholic Social Teachings
  2. To live our lives as witnesses to the Gospel message
  3. To educate fellow parishioners in Catholic Social Teachings
  4. To provide avenues for parishioners to serve Christ through loving service of others
  5. To promote Social Justice in the greater community of Manatee County
